Approximately 14 miles north of downtown Chicago, nestled on the shore of Lake Michigan, you'll find the quaint village of Wilmette, IL. Wilmette has ranked as one of the top places to live in Illinois, but you'll find that it's also a great place to visit! With a rich history and several awesome bars and restaurants to enjoy, Wilmette is worth the trip! Below are some of our favorite places and we hope you'll love them as much as we do!
Walker Bros, The Original Pancake House is where all of the locals head to when they're looking for fantastic breakfast selections such as waffles, pancakes, basted eggs, french toast, hash browns, and more. You'll have a lot of enjoyment whether you're in with the family or out with friends.
Wilmette Chuck Wagon is a burger joint that also has a ton of Greek influence on the menu. The efficient service here makes this a fast food establishment you'll enjoy eating at. You can tell that the premium ingredients make for a delicious end result. The cook here is definitely talented, so come on out.
The Noodle Cafe is an Italian restaurant with notably fresh seafood! The interior is quaint and charming, but you're going to want to call ahead if you're considering bringing a large group here. The generous portions allow you to eat your delicious dish again for lunch or dinner tomorrow.
153 Akira is a Japanese restaurant with a sushi bar setting that anybody can get behind! They have both specialty rolls and the classics like sashimi and nigiri to consider ordering. We love starting out with some miso soup and seaweed salad! Their mochi ice cream dessert is a unique end to the meal.
Piero’s Pizza is Wilmette's destination for delicious pizza in a cozy, casual setting. Piero's uses only the freshest ingredients in the pizza, and it's obvious in every delicious bite! You simply cannot beat their fresh, house-made sauce, hand made crust, or fresh toppings - it's just seriously good pizza. Dine in or order to go!
Koya in Wilmette is a Japanese restaurant with a fantastic sushi bar! This place is an absolutely must if you're trying to eat a bit healthier in Wilmette. The fire avocado ball is a popular appetizer to start out with here. From there, you might have a hard time choosing from all of the delicious options, but you can't go wrong with the udown bowl complete with tempura.
Depot Nuevo is an authentic Mexican restaurant to eat at in Wilmette! As soon as you're seated, you'll be brought a basket of chips and salsa. There are three different types of margaritas to choose from here and they're all tangy and delicious. There are al pastor, carnitas, and chicken tacos here.
Norshore Meats & Deli is the local deli that is the go-to for the locals when they're out shopping for premium ingredients for the household. They have the best quality of meat for a fair price, and it's all served up with a smile. We highly recommend stopping here to get the meat for a roast!
Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria offers a true Italian experience for those in the Wilmette area! This is a chain pizza spot, but that doesn't take away from the personalized customer service that you'll experience here. Their delivery times are always on point, so be sure to give this one a try.
Napolita Pizzeria & Wine Bar is another option for pizza to consider, but this restaurant is a bit different than the rest of the options in Wilmette given that it is also a wine bar. The thin pizza pairs perfectly with their extensive listing of wine here! The fast service solidifies this as a great choice.
